Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes Manchester United will not be able to win the Premier League or Champions League if they rely on Marcus Rashford as their main striker.
The England forward has been heavily criticise for his form since last season, when he scored just eight goals in 43 games, and has struggled this year, with United reportedly willing to accept a bid of just £40million for him, with Carragher backing a move as he does not believe the Red Devils can win trophies with Rashford still on the books.
Carragher wrote in his column for The Telegraph: “Amorim has come into a team that is underperforming on a high wage bill and needs to take a pay cut so he can invest in the new players he wants.”
“Given the number of players who have signed lesser-value contracts since joining United – I wouldn’t be surprise if someone like Marcus Rashford is link with a move away, Man Utd should sell him as he doesn’t offer value for money on a big-money deal.”
“Scoring 11 goals in 48 games in Promotion ufabet the last 18 months is not good enough. There has been so much taunting about Rashford in recent seasons that the idea of showing it is not happening.”
“He’s 27 now and should be at his peak with a front three, Rashford is the third – United will never win the Premier League or the Champions League with him as the main man up front.”
