Arteta sympathises with Sterling lack of playing time.

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has admitted he sympathises with Raheem Sterling situation on the bench and expects him to play more in the future.

Sterling has only started two Premier League games and two in the Carabao Cup for Arsenal since joining on loan from Chelsea in August, but Arteta is hoping to see him used more during the busy period.

“It’s difficult for me as well to accept that I haven’t given him more chances,” Arteta said of Sterling.

“When he doesn’t start, 90 per cent of the substitutes I choose are for the sake of scoring goals, or because of injury, or to avoid injury. There are no tactical reasons.”

“I want him to play more because ยูฟ่าเบท I think he can make a big impact on the team. He has a good role in the dressing room and wants to play a lot.”

“He’s a very important player and then suddenly he’s here, not just here but when he was at Chelsea. I feel for the players when they’re in this situation and hopefully we can change it.”
